I think many consider it done, because it can make sense - what are the chances in an entire galaxy? Star Wars started as a saga about a nobody. Luke was introduced as a farm boy who constantly got beaten but went on a journey where he learned and finally became a hero. But the rest of the saga had undone this by claiming you're only important if you're r e l a t e d to somebody. Episode VIII went back to the roots by claiming everybody can be Rey - or Luke. And since a good reveal should add to the story I believe Episode IX will either stay with this or reveal that Rey is Bens' sister in its first act since I assume their relation is the main story of the trilogy and this would change it completely and keep it interesting. Another good reveal, I think, that would add to the story, is that Han left Rey on Jakku and gave Unkar Plutt his beloved Millenium Falcon so that he takes care of her - which would give us a whole new look on Han.

I'm okay with her being a nobody, I actually prefer it. Can you imagine if they made her Obi's daughter like they said she was gonna be? That would ruin HIS character. More than anything, EP VIII is garbage because of what they did to Luke. They ruined his character. Yeah, it sucks that she can do anything she wants with the force, the whole Mary Sue thing. Though I suppose it's possible? Say she's more powerful than Vader was? So be it! I mean, yeah, it sucks because of how much emphasis they put on the importance of training, but seriously, small potatoes compared to what they did to Luke. Also, hyperspace suicide ruined everything. Being chased by a Star Destroyer trying to flee with the Death Star plans? Strap an R2 unit into an X-wing and send it through. Super Star Destroyer? X-wing. DEATH STAR? X-wing. Starkiller base? X-wing. Fuck that guy, he ruined star wars.

Jesus fucking Christ you dumb fucks, I get it that the movie wasn't good, but watch the bloody scene again. It was Rey who said that her parents were nobodies, not Kylo. He wasn't forcing her or influencing her memories. He ADDS that they were filthy junk traders, that's all. Rey is the one who admits that "they were nobodies."

I dont get it, why do everyone hope she's one more lost Skywalker or whatevs, that would be utter bullshit. I loved that dark twist that her hope to See her parents was in vain and they were Just nobodies in the middle of nowhere. Not a huge fan of the movie, but i liked that bit. Better than oh wait she's your sister/daughter/nephew bullshit
