Lots of fun
My 9-year-old granddaughter loves this set. She got a big kick out of assembling it – easy to do – and has long-term enjoyment and pride in watching her plants grow. Then the included little fairy princess has her own home and garden, giving my munchkin hours of further play fun. Everything you need is right in the box. This is a really nice toy for your munchkin, with “educational” benefits, too.

Great mix of whimsy and science
- Easy - 6 day germination for first sprouts - Messy but fun -Tooth Fairy approved This set went together very easily for my 7 year old daughter. She loves playing with water, so of course water got everywhere, the water wheel has dirt in it and ... my kitchen counter was a mess. LOL But, the seeds started germinating in 6 days which excited her to no end. She loves having her own solar panel. And these are HER plants, so I'd better not touch them. And the fairy is cute. The tooth fairy has taken over this little house. (It's so much more convenient for all involved for the tooth fairy to come to this house than to try to navigate her messy room while she's asleep.)

Adorable introduction to solar power and gardening
I am not one to get many plastic toys for children, but with the delightful fairy motif (which ties in so well with gardening and the sun), I just couldn’t pass this up. It’s cheerful and engaging. A great introduction to gardening and solar power. The tiny fairy gardening tools are delightful. This was loved by the adults and the children, as is educational and engaging, as well as fun and so cute. But that’s JustMe.

Great set
My kids loved creating their own garden. We really like craft kits. I would much prefer them doing something than watching something. It is nice because they can spend the time doing it and then they have something special to keep. They are excited when they make something themselves. This is a great activity for a rainy day or a day when your child is sick or when you are just stuck at home. It is a good way to keep a child busy. I thought it was age appropriate. It wasn’t too hard. The children really liked how it turned out. I feel like this is good for child development. It kept my children's interest. It would also make a nice gift. I would recommend it.

My Fairy Garden Windmill Playset
PROS: I purchased my daughter one of these sets for her birthday last year. What I like about the sets is that they are so complete. After a little construction, all you really need is water. My daughter is able to put it together on her own without much help from me. I join in just to make it a group activity. She really enjoys these projects. They’re a fun way for us to really spend time together without screens serving as a distraction. Watching the disks of soil expand is truly amazing. This one is more interactive than the previous ones we’ve had in the past. It’s nicely sized. CONS: Though we’ve done two of these, I’ve yet to see any flowers. As it’s turning cool, we decided to wait to plant the seeds to give them a better chance of surviving in the spring.

For everyone? - So, so cute! ...a delightful, educational, and imaginative toy.
I know this is a toy for kids, but I love fairies and I love gardening and it was just SO up my alley. I saw it and wanted it. I just ordered 2 more. I have a small enclosed garden that I call my fairy garden - I wanted them to go in it. Mine worked perfectly. I found it very easy to put together and did not use the instructions. One thing to note though is that the windmill does NOT drive the water wheel. The solar panel directly drives the windmill. To use the water wheel, it needs to be pumped by hand. That's just a matter of pressing a button, and even a small 3-4 year old can do that. It does contain SMALL parts. The swans are so tiny and perfect. They don't float though. They look cute in the dirt. I tried to get them to float by they sank. The tools are precious and make this a really good deal. They really work! You can USE them in the dirt in this set. The reason I say they are a great deal is because just a few nice small pieces of 'fairy house' accessories can cost $10 without a planter or fairy or neat-o solar panel driven windmill. The seed mix should come up easily. I mainly saw dill and cilantro seeds in mine, with a few lettuce seeds. Those all come up very easily and quickly, usually in 10-14 days from my experience. Sometimes the lettuce can be quicker. If they don't come up, I'll replant plant with some dwarf marigolds and basil. The dirt that comes with this - coir from coconut fibers- is compressed and only takes a few minutes to rehydrate. However, while I find it is good to start seeds in, I will definitely be adding some good moisture control potting mix to my garden as soon as I buy some to do sprint planting with. It's still early in the year here, so right now my garden is sitting in 20x20 inch enclosed space with a clear roof. The sun is hitting it and the little windmill is chugging right along. As a former homeschooling mom, I do think it is a very educational toy for young kids. Older kids may enjoy it, but as far as solar power and gardening go, just out of the box it is a shallow dive. However, it would be fun to several unit studies on - you could do one on fairies in literature, alternative energy (solar power, water wheels), dehydration/reconstitution, and of course, gardening. I find it to be a delightful, educational, and imaginative toy.
